Accelerate Smart Cities in Africa with KaCyber!
Smart Cities are cities that use digital technologies, for example, to improve the operational efficiency of a city, promote economic growth, or improve the quality of government services. This can include areas such as infrastructure, environmental measures, transport and mobility, health care, urban planning, and much more. Thus, smart cities and communities can play an important role in sustainable development.
Smart Mobility startups from across Africa
KaCyber Technologies is among the 15 smart mobility startups from across Africa selected to take part in the Smart Cities Innovation Programme (SCIP) for Rwandan and other African tech startups.
The program strengthens local innovation for smart cities and communities while building networks with international business partners At KaCyber, we are looking forward to a great collaboration with the partners on board, including Siemens, Amazon Web Services, Volkswagen, Sparkassenstiftung, and ViKtoria Ventures among others.
In collaboration with private companies, the Special Initiative on Training and Job Creation and Make-IT in Africa have set up the Smart Cities Innovation Programme (SCIP) for Rwandan and other African tech startups[/caption]
SCIP is a joint project of the Special Initiative on Training and Job Creation and the Tech-Entrepreneurship Initiative “Make-IT in Africa”. Both initiatives are implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Luvent Consulting, AfriLabs and MEST on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
African cities embrace technology
On the African continent, smart cities are on the rise as several countries are rolling out large-scale pilot projects on a greener and smarter urban future. Especially Rwanda has not only set itself the goal of establishing the country as a pan-African hub for digital innovation but also aspires to be the champion in the field of smart cities as part of the Smart Africa Initiative. Here, Africa´s future is already happening.
